4 dried chillies soaked in boiling water for an hour

8 cardomon pods, shelled

6 cloves

1/2 cup shredded coconut

3 bay leaves

cup water

2 lime leaves cut into thin strips

2cm knob ginger sliced

Curry:

1 kilo chuck steak cut into 3cm cubes

400ml tin coconut mild

2 sticks cinnamon

1/2 cup salted peanuts

2 tbsp fish sauce

tsp brown sugar

1 tbsp tamarind paste in 100ml hot water

4 kipfler potatoes cut into chunks
